“When I’m in the sportsbook, and four or five people tell me they like the same team, I will either take the other side or not bet the game,” said Parsels, 67. Las Vegas resident Richard “Benny” Parsels - who, like Trotter, is a taxi driver - employed a similar strategy en route to splitting the $150,000 prize for winning Station Casinos’ pro Last Man Standing contest. In the movie “Let It Ride,” horse bettor Jay Trotter, played by Richard Dreyfuss, takes an informal survey at the track, bets all of his money on the one horse that wasn’t mentioned and wins $69,000. Cris Zeniuk, left, was Weiss' contest partner, while John Grimm, right, was Parsels' partner. Malcolm Weiss, second from left, and Richard Parsels, second from right, split the $150,000 prize in Station Casinos' pro Last Man Standing contest.
